Who is

Dr Sumait?

Dr. Sumait Hospital was named after the renowned philanthropist Dr. Abdul Rahman Hamoud Al Sumait, a Kuwaiti national devoted to charity works. He was a doctor by profession and specialized in internal medicine and digestive systems.  Dr. Sumait founded the African Muslim Agency, currently known as Direct Aid. He also founded the Kuwait Relief Agency, and both institutions are well known for assisting millions of disadvantaged people in overcoming life-threatening crises. Direct Aid counts amongst its extensive activities throughout Africa, the founding and continued support of SIMAD University and Dr Sumait Hospital.

The Agencies that Dr. Sumait established prevailed 124 hospitals and dispensaries, 840 schools, 204 Islamic Centers, 214 women training centers, and 2,200 mosques. It also formed three universities in Africa, among them, is SIMAD University, that educated thousands of Somalis, who are by now a cornerstone to the private and public institutions
