Dr. Sumait Hospital officially launched a Free Surgery Campaign aimed at expanding access to life-changing surgical services for vulnerable patients across Somalia. The initiative will provide free surgical procedures in General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Urology, and Gynecology, helping individuals who may otherwise struggle to afford essential medical care.
The launch ceremony was attended by hospital leadership, healthcare professionals, representatives from DirectAid Somalia, and distinguished guests committed to improving healthcare access in the country.
The event was officially inaugurated by Mr. Ali Farah Abdullahi, Director General of Dr. Sumait Hospital, who highlighted the hospital’s commitment to delivering quality and accessible healthcare services to the Somali community. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of humanitarian healthcare programs in addressing the growing medical needs of underserved populations.
During the ceremony, Mr. Ali Faa’id, Hospital Administration Director, formally welcomed Dr. Dhaariq, a newly appointed surgeon specializing in General Surgery and Laparoscopic Surgery (Minimally Invasive Surgery). Dr. Dhaariq’s addition to the hospital’s medical team is expected to strengthen surgical services and expand the availability of advanced surgical procedures for patients.
The gathering also featured remarks from Mr. Abdirazak Hashi Ahmed, Health Director of DirectAid Somalia, who underscored the significance of collaborative healthcare initiatives in improving health outcomes and ensuring that essential medical services reach those most in need.
