Dr. Sumait Hospital is one of Mogadishu’s most prestigious hospitals. On January 3rd, the hospital, which has been serving the Somali people for three years, will mark its 3rd anniversary.

This week marks the hospital’s third anniversary, so here’s a roundup of the hospital’s significant accomplishments this year.
In addition to its regular operations, the Hospital undertook rare treatments and surgeries in 2021, and is notable for:
- 16 February 2021 – Dr. Adnan Khan of Dr. Sumait Hospitals performed successful eye surgery on a newborn baby.
- Dr-Najib Isse Dirie operated on a youngster with urine incontinence who was told by many hospitals in the country that he couldn’t be treated, but Dr. Sumait Hospital was able to get the treatment he needed.
- Last year, Dr. Awale Abdullahi, a surgeon from Dr. Sumait Hospitals, performed a unique procedure on a 62-year-old mother with a pancreas tumor, 75 Mom with a 30-year-old leg amputation, as well as a 1-year-old and 4-month-old kid who underwent surgery for a tumor known as MANJUMA, which usually affects the head, neck, chest, and liver.
